About the Fit
The Honda Fit is an affordable and incredibly fuel-economic hatchback subcompact car. It also has a sport model which is drool-worthy.In Europe, Africa, Middle East, Australia and Asia (except Japan and China), the car is called Honda Jazz, and has smaller and different engine options.
I also found out recently that the reason why it's called Jazz in Europe is because "Fitta"/"Fitte" in Swedish and Norwegian is a crude slang term. (I wonder how the people at the Honda Fit Factory felt when they heard of that, and they had just shown a commercial about the Fit in Norway :P)
But what's in a name, really? What's more important to note is that the Fit has won several awards, including:
- Japan Car of the Year (2001-2002, 2007-2008)
- Car and Driver's 10Best Car (2007, 2008, 2009)
- Kelley Blue Book's Best Resale Value Brans Award (2009)
- Top Gear Best Small Car (2006)
- Greenercars.org's One of the Greenest Vehicles (2007, 2008)
- US News & World Report's Best Economy Car (2008)
- MotorWeek Drivers' Choice Awards - Best Small Car (2007)
